Curtis Gene Baker passed away on March 2, 2013 at age 85 after a long battle with colon cancer. A native of Ft. Smith Arkansas, he was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and spent 22 years as a copy editor with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Curtis was an active volunteer with St. Vincent DePaul Society at IHM. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pleasant and Pearl Baker, his daughter Diane, and his first wife, Evelyn Brogan. Surviving are his loving wife of 36 years, Emma, daughter Tina Lee (Ray Braun), sons Braden and Daniel (Vicki) Baker, grandsons Evans (Shannon) Lee and Maitland Baker, and great grandsons Ethan and Gavin Lee. Extended family: Sam (Sally) Zamoscinski and daughters Brittany and Jessica, Gino (Debi) Zamoscinski and children Gil and Emma of Tucker; John Zamoscinski, Anna (David) Green and sons Steven (Lynne) and Eric, Bruna (Don) Boudreaux all of Atlanta; Mike Brogan of Dallas GA, Randy Baker of NM, and Debra Silverthorne of Texas. His homegoing celebration will take place at Immaculate Heart of Mary on Wednesday, March 6 at 1:00. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to SVdP Society at IHM Church. The family will receive friends from 6- 8 pm on Tuesday March 5 at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
