Gladys Ferrone

December 11, 1913 — September 20, 2004

Gladys Ferrone was born in Atlanta and remained here all her life. She played the viola and was former first violist with the Atlanta Philharmonic. She continued sharing her musical talent by playing for New York Opera presentations and numerous church groups. Gladys met her husband, Ted Ferrone, an accomplished violinist, through music. She sand soprano in the Sacred Heart Catholic church choir. Away from her music, Gladys was a legal secretary with the law firm of Powell, Goldstein, Frazer, and Murphy. She enjoyed sewing, reading, walking, painting, and taking care of others. She is survived by two daughters, Carmelita Ferrone of Atlanta, Connie Ferrone O?Neal of Stone Mountain, GA; four grandchildren, Kim, Brian, Marcus and Lisa; and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday at the Cathedral of Christ The King.  Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
