Harry Xenidis passed away peacefully Friday morning March 9, 2012 from complications due to heart failure. He was born in Russia on February 10, 1930 to Johns Xenidis and Melania Vratsidou Xenidis. He moved with his family to Athens, Greece in 1939. He grew up in Athens, Greece where he worked as a cobbler to support his mother and 4 sisters, Simela, Martha, Maria and Asiemoula. In November of 1964 he moved to the United States and settled in Massachusetts. He worked in various restaurants and subsequently moved to New York where he met his future wife Zetta and they were married on September 15, 1968. In 1979, Harry and Zetta moved from New York to Atlanta to be closer to Harry's sister and brother-in-law, John and Asiemoula Papadopoulos, founders and owners of Athens Pizza. Harry and Zetta opened up the 2nd Athens Pizza location on Peachtree Industrial Blvd in Chamblee in 1980. Harry and Zetta retired from the business in December of 1988. Harry was a loving husband, brother, and uncle to all and is survived by his wife, Zetta, sister Asiemoula Papadopoulos (Atlanta), sister Simela Kouyioumtzis (Athens, Greece), Dr. George and Kiki Manos, sister of Zetta (Long Island, NY), nephews and nieces Dr. and Mrs. D. John Papadopoulos & family (Atlanta), Dr. and Mrs. Romilos Papadopoulos (Atlanta), Mr. and Mrs. Sandy Papadopoulos, Mr. Christos Giannes and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Gianoulidis, Mr. and Mrs. Evangelos Kouyioumtzis and family and many other nieces, nephews and loved ones in Greece. Funeral will be held at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 10 with Father Paul Kaplanis officiating. Interment will be at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. A.
