Mrs. Margaret T. Witherspoon, 90, of Decatur, GA, died Tuesday, August 17, 2010. She was born to Julian Turner Thomason and Helen Perkins Thomason in Hightower, AL on March 20, 1920. Mrs. Witherspoon was a 1942 graduate of the University of Miami. She was a Link trainer during World War II and her husband was a Lt. Commander (USNR) Ret. and a Pearl Harbor survivor. She is preceded in death by her husband James Edwin Witherspoon. Mrs. Witherspoon is survived by her daughters, Marcia W. Olson of Marietta, Helen W. Aliff of Decatur, Tanda W. Bianco of Hilton Head Island, SC; granddaughters, Alison A. Killebrew and Tara W. Bianco. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Friday, August 20, 2010 in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Pastor Beth Birkholz officiating. Interment at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Witherspoon’s memory to a charity of one’s choice. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00 Noon Friday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
