Mary Alice Perkins

August 6, 1934 — October 25, 2022

Mary Alice (Smith) Ferguson Perkins passed away on October 25, 2022 after a lengthy illness.  Born on August 6, 1934 in Atlanta, Georgia to Gordon Lee and Sallie Mae (Daniel) Smith.  She was a graduate of Decatur Girls High School.  Mary was married for over 53 years to Charles Ray Ferguson who predeceased her in 2006.  Following the death of her husband Charles, she remarried Richard Stanley Perkins whom also predeceased her in 2016.  NaNa, as Mary was affectionately known, is survived by her 4 children, Carol Bertucci (Philip), Carlton Ferguson (Lorrie) , Gayle Adams, and  Lynda Richardson (Jeff),  12 grandchildren, T.J. (Timothy), Christopher, Philip, David, Luciana, Chip (Charles), Christie, A.J. (Andrew), Katie, Ashley, Emily, Matt, and 4 great grandchildren, Honey, Carys, Carter, Jude and one more little blessing expected in February, to grieve her passing.  


There will be a visitation on Sunday, October 30th at A.S. Turner Funeral Home from 12 pm – 2 pm with a graveside service to follow at Decatur City Cemetery at 2:30 pm.  Friends and family are invited to attend.
