Ralph Dale Melton, 83, died Tuesday morning, June 18, 2019 at Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta, Ga following a brief illness.
He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Mary Ann Diden Melton; his daughter, Pamela Jean (Melton) Worley and husband Joe; his brother, Leamon Melton and wife Stella; brothers-in-law Don Diden and wife Ina, and Ronnie Diden and wife Carol; and sister-in-law Judy Diden Arms and husband Burlin Arms; and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents David Elmer Melton, Sr. and Mary Francis Melton; brothers Dave Melton, Russell Melton, Paul Melton, Kenny Melton; sisters Faye Melton Cross and May Melton Jenkins; Mother and Father-in-Law Ezekiel and Imogene Diden, Brother and Sister-in-Laws Bobby and Carolyn Diden Griffis, and Buddy and Peggy Diden Brown.
Ralph was born and raised in Lancing, TN, but lived most of his life in Tucker, Ga, with his wife and daughter. After being discharged from the Army, he worked for United Airlines in San Francisco, Ca., until moving to Georgia. Ralph was the Owner/CEO of Allied Mechanical Services, a member of Local 85 Sheet Metal Association for more than 40 years. He will be terribly missed by his loving wife, daughter, and his ever present sidekick “Chappy”.
Receiving of friends will be held from 12 noon to 1p.m. on Wednesday, June 26th, 2019, with funeral services at 1p.m. to follow in the Chapel of A.S. Turner & Sons, Decatur, Ga., with a reception to follow the service. Services to follow in Wartburg, Tn in a few weeks.
