Ruth Terrell Mcleod

February 17, 1919 — November 3, 2008

Ruth Terrell McLeod, 89, widow of Marion E. McLeod, died November 3, 2008 at her home at Park Springs Community in Stone Mountain, GA. She was a native of Tallahassee, Florida and the daughter of Judge Glenn and Mrs. Esther Collins Terrell. She was a graduate of Florida State College for Women, now Florida State University and a member of Shallowford Presbyterian Church in Atlanta. She was a homemaker, and volunteer at the Decatur Veterans Hospital and other community organizations. She was a Veteran and served in the Army as a Dietician in World War II. Surviving are a sister, Doris Johnson of Palmyra, Missouri; and brother, Glenn Terrell of Seattle, Washington; a son, Marion E. (Gene) McLeod, Jr. of Greenville, SC; and daughter, Miriam Terrell McLeod of Maplewood, NJ; grandchildren, Abby Ruth and David Powell of Maplewood, NJ, the Reverend Rebekah McLeod Hutto of Durham, NC and Christopher Terrell McLeod of Sanford, Florida; and great granddaughter, Mariena Sommers McLeod of Sanford, Florida. A memorial celebration of her life will be held on Friday, November 7, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Shallowford Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, GA, with a reception of friends afterward in the Church Great Hall. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Shallowford Presbyterian Church. A. S. Turner & Sons
