Sharon Kay Bryant

Sharon Kay Bryant went home to the Lord on August 31, 2023.

She was 77 years old. She was born the second child of Charles & Melba Pridmore in Swifton, Arkansas on July 18, 1946. She later met her husband Reid Bryant in Jonesboro, Arkansas and married him February 17, 1970. They moved throughout the southeast including Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia before settling in Atlanta, GA in 1985. They had two sons, Walter Neal Bryant and Greg LeMay.

Sharon's work experience included apartment management, retail manager, and customer service. The titles and roles she loved the most were wife, mother, "Gams" or gramma Sharon, sister, friend, and most of all a follower and believer of the Lord Jesus Christ. She loved the Lord and His love reflected in her through her kindness, gentleness, and thoughtfulness which blessed many of us. She had a sweet wit and believed laughter was a gift from the Lord. When she shared her wit and laughter, it reminded us there is joy at all stages and circumstances in life. The Lord demonstrated resolve and strength through her as she handled tragedy, loss, sickness, and finally death with grace. She spent many years as a member and volunteer at First Baptist Church Atlanta. She loved the church, the staff, members, and the pastors, and they loved her too. She was known as prayerful and genuinely sought the Lord's direction each day and with all decisions. She loved Jesus because He loved her first, in the good and the bad, she would tell you He was faithful. She blessed all who knew her and that is why we are sad to say goodbye but know that for the believers in Jesus Christ the separation is temporary, and we will see our sweet Sharon in heaven.

She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Reid Bryant, a grandson Timothy "Nolan" Bryant, and a son Greg LeMay. She is survived by a son Walter Neal Bryant and his wife Susan Bryant; five grandchildren, Walter Reid Bryant, Callee Ann Bryant, Parker Kay Bryant, Bo Lemay, and Josh Barrett; a brother Dennis and wife Pam Pridmore, an adopted daughter Katie Schear, and adopted sons Jeff Lang and Michael Hawks, along with numerous nieces and nephews along with a host of dear friends and family too numerous to list.

The last three and a half years of her life she was unable to attend worship and was blessed by the Livestream service at First Baptist Church Atlanta. She asked in lieu of flowers for donations to be made to First Baptist Church Atlanta to support the Livestream service so it may continue to bless others by sharing the Word of God.

Services will be Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at First Baptist Church Atlanta, 4400 North Peachtree Road, Atlanta, GA 30338. The visitation will be at 10:00 A.M followed by the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Services will also be available via Livestream at fba.org for those unable to attend. A reception will be held immediately following the service. Interment will be at Melwood Cemetery at 2:30 PM.
