A. C. Allen

Mr. A. C. Allen of Tucker, age 79, died peacefully Saturday, August 20, 2005.  He graduated from Decatur Boys High School and was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Navy.  Mr. Allen was a dedicated member of Briarlake Baptist Church and the Alert Sunday School class. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, working in the electrical industry for more than 50 years. He also belonged to the LaVista Lions Club and was a member of the Pythagoras Lodge, a Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Yaarab Shrine Temple.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Helen Allen; daughters, Sheila Morris and her husband, Mike of Lawrenceville, Stephanie Schick of Atlanta; and two granddaughters, Sharon and Christy Morris. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 23, at 11:00 a.m. at Briarlake Baptist Church.  Dr. Tommy Ferrell and Dr. J. Hoffman Harris will officiate.  Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.  Those desiring may send contributions to the Lions Lighthouse Foundation of Georgia, 1775 Clairmont Rd., Decatur, GA 30033 or Hospice Atlanta, 1244 Park Vista Drive, Atlanta, GA  30319.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at A.
