Ada Hatton Hinnant

Mrs. Ada Mae Hinnant, 86, of Snellville, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008. She was a retired school teacher who taught in Wayne, Richmond and DeKalb counties. Mrs. Hinnant was an active member of several social clubs, including the Peachtree Pilot Club, Avondale Estates Garden Club, Alpha Delta Kappa, Iota Chapter and the Retired Teacher's Association, holding offices in many of them. She was also an active member of Belvedere United Methodist Church. In 1981 she was one of the top 10 finalists for Georgia's Mother of the Year. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roney T. Hinnant and is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Judy & Laroy Rabern, Sue Bowling and Frances & Tom Young; grandsons, Walter and Mari Rabern and Jay Bowling; great grandchildren, Ava and Jackson Rabern; several nieces and nephews and many loving friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Odum Methodist Church in Odum, GA. Interment will follow at Odum Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Atlanta, 1244 Park Vista Drive, Atlanta, GA 30319 or the charity of your choice. The family will receive friends this evening, Friday, from 6 until 8 PM at A.S. Turner & Sons.
