Al Shealy

Al Shealy, 87, of Decatur, beloved husband and father, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016. Born January 24, 1929, in Bainbridge, GA, he was the son of the late Harry, Sr. and Myrtle Miller Shealy. Al was a graduate of Georgia Tech and served in the U.S. Navy. Al enjoyed golf and watching football with his favorite team being Alabama.

He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Kalina and her husband, John; son, John Shealy and his wife, Deb; two grandsons, Aaron Shealy and his wife, Erin, and Matt Shealy and his wife, Courtney; granddaughter, Christina Shealy; great-granddaughter, Ava Shealy and great-granddaughter expected in November; and many more loving family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Joanne Marion Johnson Shealy; brothers, Harry, Jr., Andy, and Miller.

The family will receive friends from 2 - 3 p.m. Friday, October 7, at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home. A celebration of Al's life will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel of A.S. Turner & Sons with Dr. David Davis officiating, with a gathering at the family's home following.
