Albert Alvin Walters, age 75, of Madison, died January 9, 2010. Mr. Walters was a member of Beacon Heights Baptist Church and the Madison Masonic Lodge. He was a barber for many years in the South DeKalb area before retiring from Bowman Trucking Company.  Alvin was a long time resident of Decatur, where he was a member of Grant Park Masonic Lodge and the Glenwood Jaycees.  Mr. Walters is survived by his wife of 51 years, Juanita Thomas Walters; son, A. A. “Andy Bear” Walters, Jr. of Madison; daughter, Lynnette Walters of Madison; daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and John Sullivan of Griffin, Tammy and Buster Newmon of Stockbridge, Holly and Johnny Barnett of Buckhead; nine grandchildren; one great granddaughter; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Allen Wade of Snellville and Vada and Gary Timberlake of Buckhead;  brothers and sisters-in-law,  Thomas and Jane Baker and James and Jeannie Walters, all of Snellville; sister-in-law,  Marjorie Baker of Loganville.  A memorial service for Mr. Walters will be held 2 PM, Saturday, January 16, 2010, at Beacon Heights Baptist Church.  His pastor, Rev. Steven Brown will officiate.  The family will receive friends in the church immediately following the service.  Mr. Walters was cremated and a committal service for the family will take place at a later time at Center Hill Baptist Church near Loganville.  Those desiring may make a memorial contribution in honor of Alvin Walters to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, 1001 Johnson Ferry Rd., N.E., Atlanta, GA  30342-1600.  A.
