Alfred Judson Campbell

December 24, 1921 — June 1, 2008

Mr. Alfred Judson "Scooter" Campbell, 86, of Decatur, died June 1, 2008.  Born in Greene County, Mr. Campbell served his country during WWII in the U. S. Navy.  He was a retired service supervisor from Atlanta Gas Light, where he worked for 40 years.  Mr. Campbell was a proud and faithful 40 year member of Columbia Drive Baptist Church.  He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mildred King Campbell; daughters and sons-in-law, Jenny and Bruce Cantrell of Conyers, Cathy and John Comer of Lilburn; son and daughter-in-law, Al and Charlotte Campbell of Braselton; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Lois Campbell of Savannah.  A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 7 in the chapel of A. S. Turner and Sons at 11 A.M. with Chaplain Joyce Young officiating.  A reception will be held at the funeral home immediately following the service.  A private committal service at Westview Cemetery will be held later.  The family will receive friends from 5 to 8  Friday  evening at A. S. Turner and Sons.
