Alfredo B. Ledon, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, December 27, 2009. Alfredo retired in 1996 after 27 years of service to Georgia Institute of Technology. He was a Jubilarian and volunteer for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul for 43 years and a founder of the Atlanta Cuban Club. He actively participated in church activities, including the Hispanic Choir at Christ the King Cathedral. Even with this very active life, Alfredo always maintained family as his top priority. Alfredo was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Olga P. Ledon; his parents, Alfredo Ledon Velarde and Maria de la Caridad Ferrer Leyte Vidal; and sister, Concepcion Ledon Ferrer. He is survived by sons, Alfred L. (Adriana) Ledon, George E. (Pat) Ledon; daughters, Olga A. (David) Hicks and Ann M. Ledon; grandchildren, David W. (Jennifer) Hicks, Garrett K. Hicks, Tyler M. Ledon, Danielle E. Ledon, and Matthew T. Ledon; sister, Carmen (Eugenio) Latour; and wonderful caregivers, Rosalba Silva and Maria Martinez. A Funeral Mass will be held at Christ The King Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 30th. He will be laid to rest at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Tucker, GA.
