Algie Lee Sheppard known to friends and family as Al died November 15, 2018 at age 71 in Atlanta, Ga. Al was born November 21, 1946 in Atlanta, GA. He was raised in College Park, GA and attended College Park High School. While in his mid 60’s, Al earned an Associate Degree in Business from Shorter University.
Al was the son of Ilis Lee Sheppard and Mary Bernice Duke Sheppard.of College Park GA. Both are deceased.
Al is survived by his wife Judy Grizzle Sheppard of Atlanta, GA, , a daughter Mary Carol (David) Kennedy of Braselton, GA.. Al had 3 grandchildren, Brittany Robinson of Nashville TN, Jesse Robinson and Chloe Kennedy of Braselton. Al had two great grandchildren , Aaliyah McFarland and Jeramie MacFarland of Nashville, TN..

While in school Al was a member of the band and became an accomplished musician playing all woodwind instruments, in particular the saxophone. Al loved music and being a musician.
During more than 5 decades, Al made many friends and had many colleagues in the music community. He reminisced frequently about his life and times as a musician.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday November 27 at 11:00 AM at Peachtree Baptist Church of Atlanta led by Dr, Daniel Vestal. Peachtree Baptist Church is located at 2108 Briarcliff RD. NE Atlanta, GA. 30329.
