Alice Anne Lanford

Alice Anne Lanford was born to William Thomas Lanford and Patricia Harling Lanford in Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday, October 19, 1969. A true Sunday's child, Anne was a beautiful and joyful addition to her family. She grew up on Tanglewood Road in Decatur, attending Sagamore Hills Elementary and Briarcliff High School.

Attracted by their programs in arts and design as well as theater arts, Anne pursued a bachelor's degree at LaGrange College, where she pledged Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She finished her degree at the University of Georgia. Some of her happiest college memories included her time in the UGA arts study abroad program in Cortona, Italy.

Anne also pursued a master's in museum education at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She returned to Atlanta to work in several positions in the arts including the Vespermann Gallery, the High Museum of Art, the Alliance Theater, the Children's Museum of Atlanta, and the Center for Puppetry Arts. Anne also enjoyed working with children in various public elementary schools around Atlanta and private Montessori programs.

An Atlanta native born to Atlanta natives, Anne loved making memories on family vacations to the mountains in North Carolina and along the panhandle beaches of Florida. She also delighted in celebrating her favorite season of autumn, especially hayrides, sipping cider, and picking pumpkins. Memories of her will live on in our hearts when we see a red cardinal in the yard, a fairy garden in the woods, or the moon in a starry night sky.

Anne is survived by her parents, Bill and Pat Lanford, her sister Lynn Storck, her brother-in-law, John Storck, and her nieces Emily Storck and Kristin Storck.

Anne Lanford, age 54, of Atlanta, Georgia passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023 peacefully after struggling with ongoing health problems. The family will receive visitors from 1-2 PM, Saturday, December 23 at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home (Decatur). A memorial service is planned for 2 PM
