Alice B. Simmons, 82, of Atlanta passed quietly in her home on Sept. 18, 2007. She grew up in the Virginia Highlands neighborhood and attended Girls High, graduating in 1943. She was married to Robert L. Simmons, Jr. for 32 years In her later years she traveled extensively throughout the world. She enjoyed live theater and was an active member of the New Atlanta Shakespeare Tavern. Ms. Simmons is survived by her children: Eleni Carol Simmons, Jonathan D. Simmons, Robert B. Simmons, Allison C. Tobin-Clark; Grandchildren: Jonathan D. Simmons, Jr., Emily Tobin, Kelsey Tobin, Wickliffe E. Simmons. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The New Atlanta Shakespeare Tavern (http://www.shakespearetavern.com/) or Beads of Courage, Inc. (http://www.beadsofcourage.net/). Services will be held at A.S. Turner and Sons in Decatur, Ga., at 1:30pm on Friday, Sept 21. The family will receive friends from 7-9pm on Thursday and 1 hour before the service on Friday. A. S.
