Aline Imogene Evans, 87, a long time resident of Decatur, GA, and most recently, Stonegate Nursing Center, Fort Worth, TX, passed away peacefully August 28, 2010, with her daughter at her bedside. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and her loving husband of 66 years, Harry R. Evans, Sr. Aline was born in Fulsom, OK June 2, 1923. She grew up in West Texas, graduating from Childress High School, Childress, TX in 1941. After high school, she met the love of her life, Harry, and they were married in Fort Worth, TX in 1942. While Harry served our country in the US Army during World War II, Aline served as well, as a “Rosie the Riveter” at the Consolidated Airplane factory in Fort Worth. Harry’s work with Kraft Foods took the young couple to Amarillo, TX, Oklahoma City, OK, Kansas City, KS and ultimately to Atlanta, GA. She was a wonderful wife, homemaker, loving mother, and grandmother. She will be remembered as an excellent seamstress and quilter … and she always had the best brownies with chocolate icing waiting when family came to visit. Aline and Harry were active volunteers with Meals on Wheels as well as active members of Belvedere Methodist Church in Decatur. Aline was a volunteer and Auxiliary Member at the Methodist Children’s Home in Decatur for 18 years. As a result of her dedication and service to this organization, proceeds from one of the Flea Market Sales were donated to the Children’s Home Endowment Fund in her name. She will be missed by all. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Harry Jr. and Catherine of Jacksonville, FL; daughter and son- in-law Patricia (Tricia) and Sam Deitz of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren Christy Kulig, Amy Walters, Randy Evans, Matthew Evans, Michael Evans, Joshua Deitz, Celia Deitz, Jacob Deitz; great-grandchildren Courtney Kulig, Madison Kulig, Abbie Kulig; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 3:00 PM on Friday September 3, Rev. James Sanders and Rev Jesse Walter officiating. Entombment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 prior to the service. For those desiring, memorials can be made to the Susan G.
