Alix Martineau Nerette

Alix Martineau Nerette, of Stone Mountain, GA passed away on August 4, 2013. Alix was born to the late Marcelle Rey and Raoul Martineau on August 9, 1950 near Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She migrated to the United States with her family in December of 1961. Alix attended high school in Boston Massachusetts and graduated from Chamberlin College. Alix was a nurse by trade. She eventually moved to New York and worked at various doctor's offices. After many years of being a beloved aunt, Alix and her former husband Jean-Charles Nerette, welcomed their only child into the world. Rafaelle Nerette was born in New York on March 6, 1984, and she was the apple of her mother's eye! Shortly after Rafaelle's birth, the family moved to Port-au-Prince, Haiti where Alix ran a successful agriculture business. After returning to the United States in 1989, Alix once again tapped into her entrepreneurial spirit by opening a chicken farm in Athens, then eventually found her niche in the medical field when she started Clinical Research Solutions, a clinical research company. She ran her company until 2009, when her illness led her to an early retirement. Alix was an active member of Corpus Christi Catholic church, where she used her passion for the medical field and for helping others by operating their blood drives for several years. Alix is survived by her daughter Rafaelle and her husband, Fabio Miggiano, of Atlanta; her siblings, Anite Wells of Boston, Jean-Claude Martineau of Montreal, Canada, Roseline Laroche of Miami, Henriette Martineau of Atlanta, Carmel Eddy Francois and husband Georges of Atlanta, Dominique Bazin of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and Luc Richard Stephen of New York. She is also survived by several loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews. Alix is preceeded in death by mother Marcelle Rey and father Raoul Martineau, and siblings, Serge Martineau and Roger Martineau. The funeral mass will be held Friday, August 16, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Corpus Ciristi Catholic Church. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
