Alma Baker Boone

Mrs. Alma B. Boone, formerly of Mobile, AL, passed away on July 21, 2015 in Decatur, GA where she had resided for the past several years. Mrs. Boone was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit; parents, Obie and Era Garner Baker; sisters, Blondell, Pauline and Montez; and brothers, Edgar, Waymon and Andre. Her survivors include her six sisters, Dorothy Hammock, Bobbie London (Robert), Betty Baker, Shirley Beasley (Larry) Carolyn Hall and Jan Lloyd; several nieces and nephews; and longtime friend, Catherine Agee. Mrs Boone was born in Ariton, Dale County, AL on April 27, 1924. She graduated Barbour County High School in Clio, AL. She had a career in accounting with Gulf Mobile and Ohio Railroad, Alabama Dry Docks and Shipping and International Paper Company. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mobile Genealogical Society, Railroad Business Women and a lifelong active Baptist Church member. A private family gathering will be held at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home in Decatur, GA on Thursday from 5-7pm. Interment will be at Pine Crest Cemetery in Mobile, Al on Friday at 2pm.
