Althea Parten Ouzts

Althea Ann Ouzts, 79, of Atlanta, died October 1, 2017. A native of Macon, GA., Althea was a lifelong resident of Atlanta and a member of Briarcliff United Methodist Church. Althea was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Martin Emmett Ouzts, III, parents, Wilbur Henry and Ruth Butler Parten. She is survived by her sister, Beverly Zeller (Howard) and her caregiver, Renee Cooper Edlin. Althea graduated from Mercer University in Macon, GA with a BA in Arts and went on to get her CPA certification from Ga. State University. She and Martin opened Ouzts & Ouzts CPA Firm where they served the public for over 50 years. She was an honorary member of GA Society of CPA’s and a member of The American Institute of CPA’s. She and Martin enjoyed spending time at their second residence on St. Simons Island, GA. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, October 12, 2017 at Briarcliff UMC with Rev. Robert Frederick Maltzahn officiating. A second Memorial service will be held at a later date on St. Simons Island. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Briarcliff UMC. A.S.
