Alton Irwin Reddick of Tucker, Georgia went to be with his Savior Saturday May 25th at the age of 86. He was born in Arlington, Georgia, but moved to Bainbridge, Georgia at an early age. After graduating from Bainbridge High School, he entered Mercer University. He later enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. After 2 1/2 years he was honorably discharged and enrolled at the University of Georgia, where he married June Gatlin, his sweetheart of over 64 years. He worked in the grocery business, then the real estate field until retirement. He gave his life to the Lord at age 12, and became a Spirit-filled Christian in 1974. He was ordained a deacon in 1954 at Tucker Baptist, and later served at Rehoboth Baptist (2 Locations), Northwoods Baptist, and Mountain West Church of God. He was active in The Gideon's International, and loved to share his faith in the Lord Jesus with others. He is survived by his wife June Reddick; his two boys, Phil Reddick (Anne) and David Reddick (Sharon); his four grandchildren, Ginny Reddick, Catherine Reddick Whitehill (Robert), Kathleen Reddick Smith (Stephen) and Claire Reddick; his great grandson, Suther Dane Smith; and his sister, Joyce Reddick Schafer. A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday May 28th, 2:00 pm at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory with a reception following the service.
