Amelia M. Feuss

Amelia Margaret “Amy” Feuss passed away on December 28, 2017 following a lengthy and brave struggle with cancer. She was born to Dr. Charles D. Feuss, Jr., and Dorothy Gilmore Feuss on December 5, 1953 in Lexington, Kentucky and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. She graduated from Summit Girls School, Xavier University and the University of Cincinnati School of Law. Following law school, she joined the U.S. Army and served in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Following her service in the military, Amy had a successful legal career with the State of Georgia and the Federal Government, most recently with the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta. Amy was married to the late George E. Hibbs for over 20 years. They had two sons, Samuel Christopher Hibbs and John Henry Hibbs, both of Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Lee Feuss Gibson, and leaves behind a brother, Charles Edward Feuss of Chapel Hill, NC. Amy was a brilliant and beautiful woman who had many good friends. She was a wonderful mother and sister. Her interests included dogs (having owned seven Bull Terriers), bird watching and literature, especially Charles Dickens. She was a lifelong Episcopalian and a member of the Cathedral of St. Philip in Atlanta. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Camp Sunshine in Georgia or CURE for Childhood Cancer.
