Andrew Drooker

Andrew Drooker, beloved father, brother, son, partner and friend passed away on January 8th, 2025 at the age of 59. Andrew was born in Boston, MA to Peter Drooker and Nancy Drooker.

In 2012, Andy was finally diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, a disorder that effects the lungs and leads to an average lifespan of ~25 years old. Andy surpassed all expectations throughout his life, fighting everyday to be a superhero father to his daughter.

Andy spent much of his life reading comic books, working through intricate technology solutions and acting as a movie critic for anything Sci-Fi related. The past 11 years of Andy's life were full of love and laughter as he spent his time making incredible memories with his daughter such as traveling to Kenya, attending the Paris Olympics, playing make believe at Disneyland/world and raising their dogs Bella and Ruby.

Andy was a graduate of Georgia State University, earning a degree in Computer Science and Political Science. He spent much of his career assisting companies in advanced and emerging technology solutions. Most notably, Andy found incredible fulfillment in his time at Turner Broadcasting and Weather Channel where he made life long connections and developed innovative solutions.

Andy is survived by his daughter, Sydney Drooker, Brother, Matthew Drooker, Partner, Carly Hockenberry, Cousin, Jenni Agel, Neice, Isabelle Drooker and Aunt, Jodi Brookfield.

A welcome reception will be held on Tuesday, January 14th at 12:00 PM ET, followed by a service to honor Andy's life at 1:00 PM ET at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral home. Guests are invited to join family after the service at Matthew's home for time to share stories and fond memories of Andy.

Andy to us, was a real life super hero- battling Cystic Fibrosis for all of his life (albeit unknowingly for 47 years). Given his battle, the family asks that in lieu of flowers- guests make donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
