Mrs. Angelina West Hall Way of Lithonia and 50-year resident of Avondale Estates passed away peacefully on Friday, June 6, 2008, after a short hospitalization. She was 85. Mrs. Way was the fourth of five lively daughters born to John Veasey Hall and Mabel Pittman Hall, owners of the Locust Grove Dairy in Dothan, Alabama. Mrs. Way attended Montevallo College in Montevallo, Alabama, and went on to earn her master's degree in Library Science at Emory University. From 1961 to 1983, she worked as a librarian in the Emory University Law School Library. Mrs. Way was very active in her community and church, serving for 50 years as church librarian at Avondale First Baptist Church. She was a faithful alto in the church choir for 45 years and hosted many Ladies' Circle and WMU meetings in her home. She loved gardening, travel and boisterous family gatherings at her home in Avondale. Mrs. Way is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ralph E. Way; daughter, Kathy Cochran and son-in-law Marc Cochran; son, Roger Way and daughter-in-law Sue Way; grandsons, Matthew Cochran, Jeffrey Cochran, Connor Way and Jeremy Way; sister, Bunelle and brother-in-law Felix Gresham, Stephenville, TX; sister, Anna Cobb and brother-in-law Bob May, Albuquerque, NM; sister, Mary Beall Reames, Greenwood, SC; and numerous cousins. Visitation for family and friends to celebrate Mrs. Way's life will be held at A. S. Turner & Sons on Monday, June 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Avondale First Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 10, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Clay Bowden officiating. A brief graveside service at will follow at Floral Gardens Cemetery on Lawrenceville Highway in Tucker.
