Ann Morris Black

May 5, 1917 — August 24, 2004

Mrs. Ann Morris Black, 87, of Atlanta died August 24, 2004 at Eden Gardens Assisted Living. Mrs. Black was the widow of Mr. William Grier Black. She was born in Atlanta on May 5, 1917; one of eight children of Annie Lee and Homer Morris. Ann's professional life included forty-three years with the Western Electric Company where she received numerous meritorious awards, revered by her peers and coworkers and retired as the Executive Assistant to the Chief of the East Coast Division of the Western Electric Company. Ann and her husband spent all of their married life in the Atlanta area. However, the place most near and dear to their hearts was their cabin on Lake Burton, near Clayton, Georgia. There they spent thirty-five plus years enjoying the peace and quiet of the lake and mountains.  Mrs. Black is survived by one sister, Mrs. Nancy Morris Sheffield; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28th at Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Embracing Hospice Care, 3180 Presidential Dr., Suite G, Atlanta, GA 30340
