Anna Belle Little Tabor, age 99, died March 25, 2007 in Decatur, Georgia. She is survived by her son, Dwight, Jr. and his wife, Wynn and their three children, Dwight, III of Alpharetta, Margaret Copeland and daughters-Tabor and Claire, of Walterboro, S.C., and David and Jane Tabor and daughter Sarah of Tampa, Florida. She was born in the Bold Springs Community in Franklin County on September 21, 1907, daughter of Crawford E. and Lucy Conger Little. Her three brothers, Edgar, Peyton, and Hedge preceded her in death. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 1929. She also received an advanced degree in education from UGA in the 1950's. Mrs. Tabor was an educator. She was Curriculum Director, initially for the Franklin County school system, and later in Crisp County and Clayton County. She served extensively as a consultant for the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges. Following her retirement, she served as President of the Franklin County Historical Society and with other members spent three intensive years in collecting information, writing, and editing that led to the publication of the History of Franklin County. She was also President of the Hebron Historical Society, and initiated the effort to restore and preserve the old schoolhouse on the grounds of Hebron Presbyterian Church in Banks County. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, April 1st at Hebron Presbyterian Church in Banks County with visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hebron Presbyterian Church, c/o 59 Bacon St., Maysville, GA 30558. The family will also receive visitors from 5 to 7 PM on Saturday, March 31st at A. S. Turner & Sons, Decatur, GA.
