Family and friends mourn and celebrate the remarkable life of Anna Sigalos who passed away peacefully on March 24, 2014. Anna Kavadellas Sigalos, age 88 was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who was an inspiration to all who met her. Anna was born in Greece and arrived in the United States in 1948 after meeting and marrying her young and handsome soldier, John Sigalos. Anna and John lived in New York and then in 1952 settled in Marietta, Georgia to join her beloved brother Chris Kavadellas. They lived in Marietta for 30 happy years raising their children Helen, Argy and Nick. Anna was the center of a loving and vibrant home welcoming all who entered with open arms and open heart. In 1982, Anna and John retired to Hallandale Beach, Florida where Anna enjoyed an active life of living by the sea. With the happy addition of four grandchildren, she created a second loving home continuing the joy of gathering her family and friends with her open heart. While living in Florida she was an active member of the Saint George Greek Orthodox Church in Hollywood. In more recent years, Anna returned to Atlanta to be with family where she reunited with her lifelong friends. During this time she was active in the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation. Anna was a dearly loved member of the Senior Golden Group. She completed every gathering with her gifts of storytelling, song and poetry. People were drawn to Anna and she embraced old friends and new, touching them all with her kindness and warmth. Her legacy is one of dignity, great beauty, grace, strength and determination, sustained by her deep faith. Anna Sigalos is survived by her daughter, Helen, and her husband William McCreedy of Dearborn, MI; daughter, Argy, her husband Mark Russell and their children, Anna Marin and Christian of Atlanta, GA; and son, Nick, his wife Jane Tucker Sigalos and their children, John and Jason of Tucker, GA.
