Lois Perkins Bowman of Decatur, Georgia passed away on Saturday, October 29,2005 at the age of 89. She is survived by her son, Mike Bowman, daughters Lynda Roberts and Marjorie Adams, and grandson, Chris Roberts. She is also survived by her brother, Tommie Perkins of Whigham, Georgia. The family will be receiving visitors at A.S. Turner Funeral Home on Monday, October 31st from 6:00 pm unti1 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, November Ist at the A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend James Brewer-Calvert and Reverend Bill George officiating. Interment will be in the Westview Cemetery. Lois Perkins Bowman was the next to the youngest of six children of William Lafayette and Louvenia Perkins. She was born at home on July 30, 1916 and grew up on the family farm. Lois moved to Atlanta in 1937 to attend the Piedmont Hospital School of Nursing. Lois completed her nursing degree and was certified as a Registered Nurse in 1940. It was in Atlanta that Lois met her husband to be, Earl H. Bowman. They were married in January of 1945 and moved to Decatur in 1950. Lois was a loving and devoted wife to Earl (his 'guardian angel') until his death in 1991. She was a dear sweet woman, loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed. A. S. Turner & Sons
