Arthur Alexander Scott Sr.

Arthur Alexander Scott, Sr of Stone Mountain, GA passed away July 7, 2022 at the age of 83.  Art led a life of service that was truly blessed and devoted to God, his family, and his friends. He grew up in Decatur, GA graduating from Decatur High School and the University of Georgia. Art’s passion for service was established within his faith and extended by his service to the United States Navy. As a Christian, Art had a servant’s heart and lived by 1 Peter 4:10: “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”  

His faith and service extended beyond that to his country, as a State Farm Agent. He served his policyholders in helping them manage the risks of everyday life, recover from the unexpected, and realize their dreams. He was active at Eastminster Presbyterian Church having served the Presbyterian Church as deacon, elder and a trustee. However, his greatest joys were those that survived him.

Art is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lynne Cole Scott, his brother, Joe Scott, wife Ann, son Alec Scott, wife Heather and daughters, Laramie and Sierra, son Lovell Scott, wife Jennifer and sons Cole, Donovan and Emery Nolan, daughter Audra Scott Swinkola, husband Brian and daughters Kiera and Ashlin.

Services will be held Friday, July 15, 1:00 PM, at Eastminster Presbyterian, 5801 Hugh Howell Rd, Stone Mountain, GA 30087.  There will be a reception following the service at the church.
