Arthur L. Hawk, age 86, died peacefully from advanced prostate cancer. Mr. Hawk was born in Birmingham, AL, son of Nettie Irene Carter and Arthur L. Hawk, Sr. He was a 3-year veteran of WWII, a staff sargeant, and spent 6 months of that time in Alaska. He retired in 1980 after 30 years with the ACL railroad. He was a devoted and loving husband and father. He was a member of Rainbow Park Baptist Church and a lifetime member of VFW Post 101 in East Point. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Hilda Driver Hawk, two children, Eric and Gail Hawk Fedor Seawell of Atlanta, and Ronald Lee Hawk of Decatur; two grandchildren, Anthony Wayne Fedor, and Tony and Tracey Fedor Greiner of Albuquerque, NM, two great grandchildren, Anthony Wayne Fedor, Jr., and Isabella Amelie Greiner, several step grandchildren; and step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 30, 2007. Interment Crest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation for friends and family will be 6:00 -8:00 P.M. Friday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
