Arthur Willis Sutton

November 17, 1917 — August 9, 2013

Lt. Col. Arthur W. Sutton Jr, USAF Ret., passed away on Friday August 9th. Colonel Sutton was a WWII veteran, serving in the China-Burma-India Theater where he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with oak leaf cluster, and the Air Medal with oak leaf cluster. At the end of the war, he remained in the Air Force Reserve until retiring in1977. During that time, Colonel Sutton was active in the community and started a successful business as a sales representative in the lumber industry. Colonel Sutton was a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Margaret P. Sutton. He is survived by his three children, Elizabeth Sutton Carson, Arthur W. Sutton III, and David T. Sutton, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and his dear sister, Jane Sutton Lodise. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6 at Turner's Funeral Home in Decatur Georgia. Graveside services will be held at Floral Hills Cemetery in Tucker Georgia on Friday, September 6 at 1:30 p.m. A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory
