Jean Luttrell died recently after a brief illness. She lived her entire adult life in the Virginia-Highland area of Atlanta, indeed all of that time in the same home, having moved there with her father, mother, sister, and brother when she was fifteen years old. Jean was a life long member of St. Mark United Methodist Church and participated in many church activities in her younger adult years and remained a contributor to the church throughout her life. Jean attended Girls High School, a premier academic oriented school with advanced placement studies. She graduated with honors and as valedictorian of her class. After attending Wesleyan College Jean joined Equifax in Atlanta and advanced to managerial positions in the tax division. She retired after over forty years of distinctive service. Jean remained a devoted caretaker of her mother who died shortly after her one hundredth birthday in 1994. Jean remained throughout her life a devoted contributor to many worthy causes and retained a keen sense of responsibility toward others and a graciousness of spirit. She had many friends in the Virginia-Highland area of Atlanta as well as the retiree association of Equifax.
Sally Luttrell, Jean's sister, died in November 2006 while visiting Jean. Sally too was a graduate of Girls High and a Fine Arts graduate of the University of Georgia. She was an accomplished painter and sculptor. Sally spent over thirty years in Greenville, South Carolina as a senior accounts executive with one of the most important regional advertising agencies in the country. She traveled widely in support of several national companies represented by her agency.
