Barbara Jean Moran

Mrs. Barbara Jean Moran of Dunwoody died Sunday, October 10, 2010. She was born May 18, 1925 in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of William Spencer Menefee and Wilma Hover Menefee. After her graduation from East High School, she began working with Bell Telephone in Wichita, transferred with the company to New York City, and later back to Wichita. She met her husband, William "Bill" Moran, at a USO dance while he was stationed in Kansas in the Army Air Force. After their marriage they resided in Wichita until moving to Albany, Georgia in 1966. There, she worked with Sears, Roebuck and Co. until her retirement in 1990. She was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, an avid bridge player and a huge Atlanta Braves fan. She is survived by her son, Mike Moran and his wife Ellen Hartman; daughter Kitty Moran; grandchild Will Moran; and step grandchildren, Sarah Hartman and Anna Hartman, all of Atlanta.
