Barbara Jeannine Maltais

On Friday, January 25th, 2019, Barbara Jeannine Maltais, loving wife and mother of three children, suddenly passed away at age 60.Jeannie was born on November 22, 1958 to the late James Thomas Garner and Bette Gail (Manny) Garner in Atlanta, Georgia. She studied Intensive Business English at the University of Hawaii. She had two daughters, Cherie and Angel, and a son, Teague. She married Dr. Dennis Maltais, Professor of Psychology, and they enjoyed a beautiful and loving marriage.Jeannie had a love of cooking, photography, and free-lance writing. Her creative focus was on detailed landscape photos, and whimsical children’s stories. She often volunteered her sign language skills to assist the teachers at a school for deaf children. She was an avid reader of mystery stories with her favorite author being John Patterson. She was about to celebrate her 15th wedding anniversary with her husband, Dennis, the love of her life. Jeannie was preceded in death by her father, James. She is survived by her husband, Dennis, her mother, Gail, her three children, Cherie, Angel, and Teague, her sister, Lynne, her step sister, Glenda, her brother, David, and his wife Mary, nieces, a nephew, grandchildren, and her husband’s children, David and Mark.The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 30th, 2019, at A. S. Turner and Sons funeral home at 2773 North Decatur Road, Decatur, Georgia 30033 at 3:00 P.M. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 3:00 P.M. prior to the service.
