Barbara Knight Mowell

Barbara Knight Mowell, of the Pea Ridge community of Decatur, died January 16, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. B. "Red or Pappy" Mowell and is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Sherry Mowell of Snellville; grandson, Matthew Mowell of Atlanta; granddaughter, Samantha Mehl of Hoschton; sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Dan Vess of Atlanta; brother-in-law, John Eldon Mowell and his wife Marie of Smyrna; four nieces; a nephew; special friends, Juanice and Jim Ledbetter. At her request, the remains of Mrs. Mowell was donated to Emory University Hospital School of Medicine. In honor of Barbara Mowell, memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 6520 N Andrews Ave, Ft Lauderdale FL 33309 or to the Homeless Pets Foundation, 1343 Gresham Rd, Marietta GA 30062. To celebrate the life of Mrs. Mowell, the family will receive friends 4-8 Friday evening, January 21, 2011, at A. S. Turner & Sons.
