Bennie W Mcginley

Bennie Ruth Williams McGinley passed away at age 79 on January 18th at home in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Bennie was born in Leaksville, North Carolina on June 26, 1937 to Iris Ritenour and Claude Williams. She was married to Dr. Patton H. McGinley in Narrows, Virginia in 1962. Bennie received a Bachelors degree in Fine Art from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and a Masters in Education from Emory University. She taught art and multiple academic courses to elementary students in New Jersey, Virginia and Georgia. She will be remembered for her love and support of the arts, education, her friends, and family. A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 22nd from 5:00-7:00pm at A. S. Turner Funeral Home located at 2773 N. Decatur Rd. The funeral, officiated by Rev. Larry Burgess, will be at the same location on Monday, January 23rd at 1:00pm. Bennie is survived by her husband, Pat, her sister, Mary Lou, her children, Patton and Dardi, her grandchildren, Evie and Cooper, and her son-in-law, Patrick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
