Bess Benson Clarke

Mrs. Bess Benson Clarke, age 98, of Lilburn, formerly of Atlanta died October 27, 2004.  Mrs. Clarke after attending Wesleyan College went to work at Sears, Roebuck & Co. She started her career there the first day the store opened and retired after 41 years. She was the supervisor of the Catalog Department. Mrs. Clarke was a long-time member of Druid Hills United Methodist Church and continued reading her Bible all through her lifetime. She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Billie B. Hester of Fayetteville, GA; nieces and nephews, James W. Hester, Jr. and wife Pat of Lilburn, GA, Shirley and Bobby Barronton of Hampton, GA, Steve Benson of Jonesboro, GA, Dr. Charles Womack and wife Marilyn of Destin, FL; and several great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Clarke will be missed by her family and many friends. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 30th, Rev. Rex T. Kaney officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
