Bette Gail Hock, Gail to all who knew her, Gan to her grandchildren, was born on April 23, 1939, in Decatur, Georgia, to Edith McCay Manny and Charles Stewart Manny. She graduated from Decatur High School in 1957 and went on to marry and have three beautiful children. Gail was a woman of many passions including lunching monthly with high school friends, table tennis tournaments, and dancing the night away. She could outdance every single family member! A true southern lady, Gail never met a stranger. If you were blessed to know her, then you know how kind and accepting of everyone she was. She had a beautiful heart. Gail was devoted to her family and friends and did everything she could to enjoy life to the fullest. She was just plain fun! Gail lived in Norcross, Georgia, when she passed away unexpectedly on January 19, 2021, at the age of 81 due to Covid-19 and underlying health conditions. Gail was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Jeannine Maltais, her mother and father, and her two brothers, Alan and Paul. Gail is survived by her fiancé, J. Duke Stogner; her children, Catherine Lynne Stusak (Robert), David Glenn Richards (Mary Heller), stepdaughter, Glenda Sue Fitzgerald; her grandchildren, Cherie Michelle Major, Edith Angelique Mealing, Melissa Gail Smith (Timothy), Charles Matthew Morris, Amanda Lynne Brown (Cody), Teague Marshall Philips; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends. Visitation for Gail Hock will take place Saturday, January 30, 2021, at 1:00 pm at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home, 2773 N. Decatur Rd., Decatur, GA 30033. A Memorial Service at the same location will follow visitation at 2:30 pm and may also be viewed live on their Facebook page, and later on their website at www.asturner.com. The graveside procession to Decatur Cemetery, 229 Bell St., will begin at 3:15 pm, with graveside service at 3:45 pm.
