Bettie Oakes Vermillion

Bettie Oakes Vermillion, 87, of Decatur, died Friday, January 9, 2015. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, January 11, 2015 in the Chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons with Rev. John Donaldson officiating. Interment will follow in Decatur Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Bettie was a retired EKG Technician from DeKalb Medical Center, a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Avondale Patillo United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Bill and her parents, Lois and Charlie Oakes, she is survived by her daughter Eugenia V. Holcombe; son and daughter in law, Russ and Lori Vermillion; brother, Tom Oakes; grandchildren, Angela McCullough, Bill Holcombe, Kevin Vermillion and Chris Holcombe and nine great grandchildren.
