Pat Kyser, born Bettie Marie Reynolds in Atlanta on August 22, 1927, passed away on Friday June 24, 2011. Raised in Ellenwood, she attended Henry County High School and later served in the USO during WWII. Mrs. Kyser retired from Children's Medical Group, after 25 years of service as their receptionist. She was a resident of Kings Bridge Retirement Community and a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Hapeville, and later Briarcliff Baptist Church. Mrs. Kyser was active in children's and teen ministries worked in the Clothes Closet and taught Sunday school. In later years, her favorite hobby was painting birdhouses. Pat was warm and kind, a joy to her family and friends, and will always be remembered for her sense of humor and her love of children. She married her high school sweetheart, Joe Kyser, in 1946, who preceded her in death in 1964. She is survived by her children, Joe Kyser and his wife Mary of Munfordville KY, John Kyser of Phoenix AZ, Carol Muelchi and her husband John of Marietta, Kay Higgins and her husband Michael of Decatur; She is also survived by her grandchildren, Doug and Jenna Kyser of Louisville KY, Mary Jo Kyser of Munfordville KY, Heather and Tim Hartman of Tucker, Kelly and Drew Hays of Wichita Falls TX, Kathryn Higgins of Decatur, Dana Muelchi of Marietta; great grandchildren, Sam, David and Ava Kyser and Taylor Hartman. Funeral Services will be held 1 PM, Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Briarcliff Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Bigger and Rev. Marc Burcham officiating. Interment, Sherwood Memorial Gardens. For those desiring, memorial contributions in honor of Pat Kyser may be made to Briarcliff Baptist Church or the United Methodist Children's Home. The family will receive friends 6-9 Monday evening at A. S. Turner & Sons.
