Betty E. Wolfe

Betty Emery Wolfe, born October 16, 1922 in North Arlington, New Jersey, died on July 23, 2008 in Atlanta, GA, unexpectedly at home of natural causes. She is survived by her four children, Barbara Tabak, Susan Herron, Paul Wolfe and Bob Wolfe; their respective spouses, Max, John, Ellen and Kelly Koelker; five grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Mary Jane Emery; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her husband Bob, a WWII Air Force (B-25) pilot, predeceased her in 1992. During her lifetime Mrs. Wolfe and her family lived in New Jersey; Albany, NY; Pittsburgh, PA; Philadelphia, PA; and since 1974 in the Tucker area of Atlanta. She graduated from Russell Sage College and recently attended her 65th class reunion. Mrs. Wolfe was an active member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church where she served on several committees, generously devoting her time and energy. She volunteered at Emory Hospital for the past several years and was a member of the DAR. Her family and friends knew Mrs. Wolfe to be a wonderful cook, a gracious hostess, an avid bridge player, and a kind and supportive friend.  Active throughout her life, Mrs. Wolfe enjoyed traveling, volunteering, tennis, bowling, knitting, reading, word puzzles and board games.  A memorial service to celebrate Mrs. Wolfe’s life will be held on Monday, July 28, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 4882 LaVista Rd., Tucker, GA. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Andrews, designated to the Dorothy Buyert Memorial Circle.
