Betty Garrett Cline, age 84, of Decatur, Georgia, died Wednesday, November 13, 2013. Betty was a native Atlantan, daughter of Floyd and Effie Erwin Garrett. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law and was admitted to the Georgia State Bar in 1950. She was a staff attorney for the Federal Government for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, attorney H. Eugene Cline. Betty was a member of Briarlake Baptist Church. She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star; Kappa Delta Sorority, Sigma Phi Chapter UGA; Phi Alpha Delta International Legal Fraternity; National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association CDC Chapter #1419; was a longstanding member of the Atlanta Commercial High School Alumni Association; and a member of St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary. Surviving are daughter, Nancy Cullison, her husband, David Cullison, and granddaughter Sophia Catriona of Decatur; daughter Marsha Cline, M.D. and her husband, Mark Smitherman, M.D. of Clearwater, Florida; son, Henry Cline, M.D., his wife Wanda Cline of Vidalia, grandchildren: Mary Margaret, Joseph, Abigail Cline, and Stephanie Mills, her husband Chris Mills, Esq., and great-grandchildren Sutton, Lucy and Annemarie Mills; and daughter Sally Cline, Esq. all of Atlanta.
