Betty Glenn Bentley

September 3, 1921 — October 13, 2017

Betty Glenn Donaldson Bentley passed away from complications from pneumonia
on Friday October 13th, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her parents Margaret Nix Donaldson and Thomas
Jefferson Donaldson, her husband Homer Bentley and daughter Margaret Dee
Bentley Coleman.

She is survived by three children, Homer L. Bentley Jr. of Savannah, Alice S. Foreman
of Cumming and Donnie Bentley of Decatur. In addition to her children, she is survived
by her sister Jane Bailey of Lithonia , grandsons Charles R. Coleman Jr., Alex E. Coleman,
granddaughters Jacqueline S. Short and Kim N. Bentley.

Betty was a native of Atlanta and a graduate of Girls High class of 1940. Following high
school she worked for the Federal government in Washington D.C. in the Pentagon for a
time during WWII and then received a transfer back to Atlanta working with the Civil Service
where she met Homer Bentley.

Following the death of Homer Bentley in 1958, she moved from Winder, GA to Decatur and
began working for DeKalb County Health Department in 1964 retiring in 1984 while raising four children. Betty enjoyed family get togethers , reading, traveling, playing bridge and laughing
out loud at a funny movie.

A memorial service will be held Saturday Oct. 28th, at 11:30 a.m. at North Decatur Presbyterian
Church located at 611 Medlock Rd., Decatur, GA 30033. In lieu of flowers, donations may be
made in her name to North Decatur Presbyterian Church.
