Betty H. Ginn

Betty H. Ginn, age 75, was received into heaven following a heart attack Thursday evening, May 3, 2007. She had suffered for many years with chronic illness and severe pain. Funeral services will be held at the Valley Brook Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Monday, with Rev. Mike Roper presiding. Burial will be in the Peachtree Baptist Church Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Dr. D. Perry Ginn, a long time Georgia Baptist Pastor. Mrs. Ginn served as a secretary with the Home Office of the Georgia Baptist Convention. She was the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. T .R Harvill, Sr. who preceded her in death. Survivors include daughter, Kathy Ginn Colbenson and husband, Pete; son, David P. Ginn, Jr. and wife, Rhonda; daughter, Christine Ginn Barker and husband, Raymond; brother, Morgan Harvill and wife, Marilyn; brother, T .R. Harvill, Jr. and wife, Martha; and granddaughters, Shannon Brown and Hayley Ginn; in addition to many nephews and nieces. She is remembered by her many friends for her courage, her compassion, her uplifting spirit and contagious smile. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Valley Brook Baptist Church, 1198 N. Valley Brook Road, Decatur, GA 30033. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
