Mrs. Betty Hardman Handrop, 81, of Doraville died Tuesday, April 14, 2009. A native and life long resident of DeKalb County. Betty was born on Thursday, July 7, 1927. She was an active member of Briarlake Baptist Church and the Winsome Sunday School class. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, she is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dal M. Handrop; daughter & son-in-law, Nancy and Carl Smith of Ringgold; sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn and Terri Handrop of Cumming, Greg and Tina Handrop of Monroe; grandchildren, Lindsay and Mandy Smith, Chad and Drew Handrop; and sister Martha Lawson of West Palm Beach, FL. Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 18th at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Rev. Larry Sullivan officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Briarlake Baptist Church, 3715 LaVista Rd., Decatur, GA 30033 or the Leukemia Society of America, GA Chapter, 2625 Cumberland Pkwy, Suite #205, Atlanta, GA 30339.
