Betty Kelly Adamson of Stone Mountain, GA passed away on December 10, 2018 after a long illness with cancer.
She was born in Decatur, GA on September 20, 1930, the youngest of seven children born to the late Mittie Lou and James Lester Kelly.
She was a graduate of South West DeKalb High School, class of 1947.
Betty was a faithful member of Mount Carmel Christian Church for over 75 years. She loved her Church and her Lord.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill T. Adamson and daughter, Lizabeth Adamson Perkins.
Betty is survived by her sons: Bill Thomas, Jr. and his wife, Susan, and Kelly B. Adamson; grandchildren: Amanda Beth and Joshua Thomas Adamson, and Lori Manus; great grandchildren: Sammy and Max Manus; brother-in-law, Terrance B. and his wife, Ede, of Washington, D.C.; sisters-in-law, Sharon and her husband, Dr. Bass, of Calhoun, GA, and Jean Kelly, of Stockbridge, GA; and many more loving family and friends.
Betty appreciated her many friends and family who brought her much joy in the last few months, especially Brenda Aycox Herron and Linda Aycox MacFarland.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be held on December 13, 2018 at A.S. Turner Funeral Home in Decatur, GA with Michael J. Boen officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Gardens in Stockbridge. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. on December 12, 2018 at the funeral home.
