Betty M. Clarke

Mrs. Betty Matthews Clarke of Covington died Monday, December 13, 2010. She was born in the family home in East Atlanta on August 18, 1925, graduated from Girls High School of Atlanta in 1943 and married Chester Clarke on December 25, 1943. She had a life of service to her family and the Body of Christ. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta, the Servio ladies Sunday School class and the Ladies of the Cloth sewing group. She is survived by her husband, Chester W. Clarke; daughter, Karen Clarke Wiggins of Lexington, SC; sons, Donald S. Clarke of Shelby, NC & Warren M. Clarke of Covington, GA; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Rev. Scott Downing officiating. The interment will be private in Greenwood Cemetery. A.
