Betty Moore Myers, 84, a native of Decatur died Friday, July 25, 2008. Betty was a graduate of DecaturGirlsHigh School and attended AgnesScottCollege, where she was an officer of her class each year. She was a long-time active member of DruidHillsUnitedMethodistChurch, United Methodist Women where she served several terms as president and the Agape Circle. Betty was always known for her warm, loving heart, a servants heart, she enjoyed giving back, which was evident by her participation in the Rhododendron Club. Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George and Hallie Moore, she was also preceded in death by her sister Mary Frances “Tance” Williams. Surviving are her devoted husband of 64 years, Doyle A. Myers; daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Charles Clements of Stone Mountain, Molly and Rick King of Greensboro, NC, Cathy and Eddie Brooks of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Caye Watts, Christy Marbut, Jessica Clements, Kevin King, Katie King, Kerry King, Lindsay Creswell, Brad Brooks and nine great-grandchildren, Brett, Blake, Brady, Conner, Lauren, Kendall, Jacob, Isaac, and Judson. Betty’s wish was for a private family graveside service which will be held at FloralHillsMemoryGardens. A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday afternoon, July 30th at five o’clock at DruidHillsUnitedMethodistChurch with Dr. Rex Kaney officiating. A reception will be held for family and friends following the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to DruidHillsUnitedMethodistChurch or the American Diabetes Association. A.
