Betty Sue Jones Benson passed away peacefully on September 28, 2013 in Atlanta, GA. She was born February 12, 1929 in Durham, NC to Rex and Mattie Jones, who preceded her in death. Betty married Jack F. Benson on June 6, 1953. Betty was an active member of The Emory Hospital Women's Auxiliary and The U. S. Public Health Service Women's Club. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Jack and her sister, Kathryn, brother, Henry and grandchild, Aidan Culliton. Betty is survived by her son, Don (Dana) and daughter, Jackie (Jim) Culliton; her two grandchildren, Taylor and Kelsey Benson; her brother, Buck; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner and Sons on Saturday, October 5th at 2:00 pm with Rev. Michael Holt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Park Springs Foundation, 500 Springhouse Circle, Stone Mountain, GA 30087 or the charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank the staff of Cobblestone at Park Springs for their outstanding care, compassion and support. A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
